You will not improve your swing and achieve golfing success through analysis paralysis. People who teach you complex swing thoughts just clutter your conscious mind and block out the unconscious mental processes that already know how to swing the club to the best of your ability.
Now don't get me wrong about the general standard of teaching from PGA golf professionals. It's truly magnificent and in nearly all cases the swing coaching advice they give you is well thought out, simple, elegant and tailored.
So what am I griping about, you may ask? Well, unfortunately the coaching advice available from many websites, magazines and books is over complicated and, of necessity, over-generalized. Face-to-face, a good golf pro will identify perhaps one or two key things for you to work on at any one time. The author of a book or article, on the other hand, has little or no information about you and therefore has to generalize. Now, that might be fine if the author has only one or two key points to get across. If he has more than two points to get across in any one article or chapter, then that can lead to analysis paralysis and achieving the opposite of golf improvement.
No Analysis Paralysis with Golf Hypnosis
With Golf Hypnosis, the effect is totally different. Hypnosis is about concentrating on communicating with your unconscious mind, so that the changes you implement unconsciously become part of your automatic response. You don't have to analyze the changes to use them. In fact, you don't even need to remember them consciously.
Analysis Paralysis on a Golf Improvement Website
To show you what I mean, here's a list of swing thoughts from a single article on a golf improvement website. Now, if this set of suggestions doesn't lead you to analysis paralysis, I don't know what will! The author suggests that you:
* reduce the moment of inertia of your swing to get more distance for less input
* delay the hand release
* increase the swing torque
* reduce the Moment of Inertia - a function of the size of the mass and the radius of the mass as it applies to a rotating entity.
* remember that the swing radius is determined by the angle of your hand pronation
* keep your hands pronated longer in the downswing to allow you to accelerate your trunk turn at specific moments
* need to reset your tempo and timing
* eliminate muscle tension
* swing naturally and keep your hands quiet!
Just imagine what it would be like if a driving instructor gave a pupil these kinds of technically complicated instruction during every lesson.
