If stress is stressing you out, it’s time you took control.

Stress has been linked to many acute and chronic health disorders, including heart disease, high blood pressure, migraines, addictions and muscle pain.

So, if you’re feeling tired, burnt out or finding that life is just too difficult, don’t despair.

Imagine how life could be if you were able to feel less pressure in situations that normally cause you stress.

Signs and Symptoms of Stress

Many health problems are caused or made worse by stress. Some of the most common symptoms include:

Heart disease
Depression
Anxiety and panic attacks
High blood pressure
Pain in any part of the body
Sleep problems
Digestive problems

There may be emotional or behavioural symptoms as well. The Health and Safety Executive has identified the following lists of signs and symptoms:

Wanting to cry much of the time (tearfulness)
Feeling that they can't cope

These symptoms may be a sign of stress, but may also be a sign of another underlying health condition, so if you are suffering from any of these symptoms, it is important to visit your GP for a diagnosis.

Causes of Stress

The pressures and situations that contribute to stress are called stressors. These are not always negative factors in our life, but can be anything that put a high demand on you, such as moving house, a new baby, or retirement.

The stressors can be categorized into external and internal factors. Some of the most common major external factors include:

Death of a partner
Divorce or separation
Death of a close relative or friend
Chronic illness
Marriage
Loss of job
Marriage reconciliation
Retirement

Some of the internal stressors include:

Negative self-talk
Unrealistic expectations
Perfectionism
Lack of assertiveness
Pessimism

What is Hypnotherapy?

Hypnosis and hypnotherapy are states of profound relaxation where your body relaxes and your brain waves slow down. This is the opposite of what happens when you suffer from stress or anxiety.

Hypnosis is a way of helping you to retrain your subconscious mind to achieve positive change, calm your emotions and adopt new and better ways of dealing with stress.

Hypnotherapy can help you get your life back on track.

How can Hypnotherapy help?

Studies have shown that hypnotherapy can quickly allow you natural stress relief and anxiety reduction.

With just a few sessions you can learn about the causes of stress, the effects on your health and how to make changes to cope better.

Hypnotherapy is not only used for the treatment of stress; it is also used for the treatment of pain management, weight management, phobias, panic attacks and addictions such as smoking.
