- Speak to your trusted friends and family and ask them if they’ve ever gone to see a hypnotherapist for whatever reason. Some friends may be a little shy about their past experiences with a hypnotherapist, but the reality is, if you ask them in a quiet, non confronting way, that person may indeed tell you who they’d recommend and went to see accordingly.
- It’s important that you see someone who is qualified. Look on the national accredited hypnotherapy association website and check to see if they have a member’s page where by you can check out the members of the association. These people will have to have the required accreditation to be able to get on the page. Just make sure you’ve chosen the right body or website. There are a lot of Mickey Mouse organisations that seemly exist to scam your money.
- The hypnotherapist should make u feel comfortable as soon as you walk into his or her room. If you feel a little uneasy at the start, that should be known as being natural. However, if you feel like a conflict is brewing between you and the hypnotherapist, the best thing you can do is leave.
- When you do find a good hypnotherapist, be a little selfish and not tell anyone. Why you ask? Well that person who’s been will probably rave about him or her, and end up making it harder to book an appointment for you next time. Sometimes its best to keep things quiet when you’ve discovered something good.
- A good question to ask your hypnotherapist is whether they have insurance. Whether they have insurance or not will help you determine whether the hypnotherapist is genuine and bona fide. Never work with a hypnotherapist who doesn’t have insurance!
It shouldn’t that hard to know how to find a good therapist. You just have to be a little proactive ;)
